The Leaven of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is a community of missionary sisters dedicated to the education and formation of the young and their families. Early childhood formation, catechetical instruction, sacramental preparation, retreats, and house-to-house evangelism are all part of the apostolate. They also coordinate with parishes for children, youth, and family formation seminars or retreats.
In the United States, the LIHM Sisters teach at St. Michael's Catholic School in South Sioux City, Nebraska, and at Sacred Heart Elementary in Cullman, Alabama. In the Philippines, LIHM sisters teach at the Mary Help of Christians Boarding School in Pangasinan and Mater Redemptoris College in San Jose, Nueva Ecija.
