Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and the Atrium
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a program which involves children, catechists, and adults in a common religious experience. In an "atrium," the values of childhood, primarily those values of contemplation and enjoyment of God, are presented to children as part of their learning curriculum and spiritual life. It embraces Maria Montessori's vision of the religious capacity of the child and her methods of teaching them. The sisters opened the first atrium at Sacred Heart Elementary in 2015. At present, they offer Level I (3K-5K), Level II (1st-3rd grade), and Level III (4th-6th grade).
