True to our ministry, the LIHM Sisters have long embraced the joyful spirit of young people, leading them into life-changing encounters with Christ. For more than 25 years, we have accompanied youth and young adults to World Youth Day: Rome in 2000 and Toronto in 2002 with Saint John Paul II; Cologne in 2005 Sydney in 2008, Madrid in 2011 with Pope Benedict XVI; and Lisbon, Portugal, in 2023 with Pope Francis.
Now, we joyfully look toward World Youth Day 2027 in Seoul, South Korea, during the pontificate of Pope Leo XIV. For the first time, our LIHM communities from the Philippines, Australia, and the United States will each lead groups of Mary Help of Christians Crusade (MHCC) youth and young adults. Together, we will meet in Seoul as one family - ready to encounter Christ and the universal Church.
